About Rajasthan
Rajasthan is India’s great desert and palace state, filled with fortified cities, painted havelis, royal residences, pilgrimage centres and distinctive regional cultures. Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Jaisalmer each offer a different architectural identity, while smaller towns such as Bundi, Mandawa and Bikaner reward travellers who move beyond the most famous route. The Aravalli hills, Thar Desert, lakes and wildlife reserves provide varied landscapes alongside the monuments. Music, textiles, miniature painting, jewellery and regional cuisine remain integral to the travel experience. Rajasthan is highly accessible but geographically large, so a strong itinerary should focus on one circuit. Winter is the most comfortable and popular season, especially for desert travel.
